Mid Cork LGFA League Rules for 2019 Season

Fixture Dates

Games to be played on or before dates given. Exceptions only in the event of both teams agreeing an alternative date, providing this date does not interfere with another fixture date. The Mid Cork Board Fixture Secretary must be informed in advance of the new date and she/he will confirm with both clubs if the new date is acceptable.

  • If both clubs agree an alternative date and time for their fixture and this is confirmed by the Fixture Secretary, this date then becomes the default date and time for the fixture.

Fixtures must be played in the order drawn and notified unless agreed by the Fixture Secretary.

Throw in times

In the event of both teams being unable to agree a throw in time, the Mid Cork Board default time of 3.00p.m shall be imposed for Weekend fixtures. In the case of a Midweek fixture 7.30pm will be deemed the throw in time. Where floodlights are not available and light maybe an issue this time may be adjusted by the Fixtures Secretary.

Clubs with ‘A’ & 'B' Teams should try and play their “B” match on the Saturday of the weekend fixtures. If they cannot get agreement from the opposing team, then the default will be 11:00am on the Sunday morning for ‘B’ teams and 3:00pm on the Sunday afternoon for ‘A’ teams. In the event of a Mid-week fixture the ‘B’ shall play 24hrs after the ‘A’ team.

Pitches

If home side cannot provide pitch in good time, they must concede home advantage. Contact to be made with the Fixture Secretary if there is a change of Venue. In the event that both teams being unable to provide a venue, both teams must agree an alternative date, providing this date does not interfere with the next fixture date and the Mid Cork Fixture Secretary has been informed. He/she will confirm with both clubs if the new date is acceptable. If both teams cannot agreed to a new fixture date within two days of the original fixture date, a new date and time will be set by the Fixtures Secretary.

Referees

Home side must organise neutral referee and advise opposition team with Referee’s name at least 48hrs advance.

Your appointed referee must return a completed match report to the Mid Cork Secretary within 48 hrs of the match. Referees who consistently fail to return completed reports will be restricted from refereeing in the Division. In the case of any serious incidents the match report must be submitted within 24hrs.

For all league semi-finals the Mid Cork Board shall appoint the referee.

Referees to be drawn from approved County Board list only.

Results

Home Club will receive automated text from web site in advance of match. Result to be submitted within 24hrs of completion of match.

Walkovers

Walkovers can only be awarded by the Mid Cork Board executive committee following consultation with both teams involved. Failure to play the fixture may result in a walkover not being awarded to either team and the fixture declared void.

Where a team cannot field on the given fixture date and time and where the opposition are unable or unwilling to facilitate a change, the Mid Cork Board executive committee shall have the power to deem the result a walkover.

  • Any team failing to fulfil two fixtures will be expelled from the competition. A team awarded a walkover by the Mid Cork Board executive committee will be deemed to have fulfilled that fixture.
  • Walkovers may not be taken into account by county Board for regrading purposes.
  • Clubs giving walkovers may be levied a fine up to a maximum €25 for the first         walkover and a maximum €50 for subsequent walkovers.

Final League Standings

  • For Semi Final placings following the league phase, the team in 1st will play 4th place and the team in 2nd will play 3rd. Teams in 1st and 2nd shall have home advantage.
  • In the event of two teams finishing level on league points their head to head record will be taken into account. The winner of the head to head match will be ranked higher. If their head to head result was a draw then lots will be drawn for semi-final placings.
  • In the event of the teams in 4th and 5th place finishing tied, their head to head record will not be taken into account and a playoff will take place.

Promotion

  • The winning team in a division final shall be promoted two years later. E.g. Winners of U14B in 2018 shall be promoted to U16A in 2020. If the Mid Cork Executive deems that the runners up in a B, C or D grade final, are strong enough for a higher grade two seasons later they will also be promoted.

Relegation

  • The team finishing in last place in each division shall be relegated two years later. In the event of tie for last place the head to head record of the teams will be taken into account, with the losers being relegated. If the Mid Cork Executive deems that a second team is too weak for a division they shall have the power to relegate this team.
  • In the event of three teams finishing level on points at the bottom of the league table and where there is no clear head to head loser the mid Cork Board shall have the power to decide which team/s is relegated.

First Fifteens

  • Clubs with second teams in the league must nominate their best fifteen active players who will only be permitted to play with their first team. Players not expected to play in the 2019 should not be named in a clubs first fifteen. Players of a lower age group who are considered better than an older girl must be named in the best active 15 players, E.g. U13 player better than an U14 must be named in your first 15.
  • At U12 following the first two rounds of fixtures a club who have identified that a player may not be of Best 15 Active standard may re grade one player down to their B team and a new player tied to their best active 15.
  • A player not named in the best active fifteen but who participates in two higher grade fixtures cannot return to play in the lower grade.
  • Any disputes of “Best fifteen active players”, shall be forwarded to the County Board Coda Officer.

County Qualifiers

  • U12A Finalists go to A County.
  • U12A Losing Semi-finalists go to B County.
  • U12B1 Finalists go to C County.
  • U12B1 Losing Semi-finalists go to D County.
  • *Winners of U12B2 league will contest the U12B1 semi final
  • U14A Finalists go to A County.
  • U14A Losing Semi-finalists go to B County.
  • U14B Finalists go to C County.
  • U14B Losing Semi-finalists go to D County.
  • U16A Finalists go to A County.
  • U16A Losing Semi-finalists go to B County.
  • U16B Finalists go to C County.
  • U16B Losing Semi-finalists go to D County.
  • Minor A Finalists to A County.
  • Minor A Losing Semi-finalists to B County.
  • Minor B Finalists go to C County.
  • Minor C Finalists go to D County.
