County Féile for 2nd Teams Competition
April 30, 2025
Historic Day for Cork LGFA as Inaugural County Féile for 2nd Teams Takes Place
The pitches were buzzing in Glanmire GAA on Sunday 27th April 2025 as Cork LGFA proudly hosted the first-ever County Féile Competition dedicated to 2nd teams within clubs.
The weekend prior had seen the traditional Divisional Féile competitions take place at 12 venues across the county, continuing the proud tradition of fast-paced skills and participation.
However, with the ever-growing number of girls embracing Ladies Football, the launch of a dedicated competition for club 2nd teams was both timely and essential.
Every 15-year-old girl in the county deserves the opportunity to experience the excitement and pride of the Festival of Football that is Féile — and last Sunday in Glanmire, made that vision a reality.
On the day, six teams from across Cork showcased their skill, spirit, and teamwork in a celebration of football and friendship. The event featured over 120 players, each club enjoying the chance to participate in a final, with four highly competitive matches for each Club throughout the day.
It was a day filled with inspiring displays of determination, inclusion, and camaraderie — the true hallmarks of Féile. Confidence grew, skills shone through, and smiles were in abundance.
